Wii Fit Plus
The basics
The successor to Wii Fit includes everything we loved about the original, plus some cool new features, the most notable of which is a calorie counter. It works through tracking the Metabolic Equivalent (MET) value, which calculates how much energy is used during physical exercise. It’s remarkably accurate, so if you’re feeling guilty after scoffing those Quality Street, then you can redeem yourself by working off the calories by going for an extra-long bike ride without leaving the house.
The good
Wii Fit Plus has made some tweaks to make it easier to do more continual exercise or training. You can now focus on certain areas such as aerobics, yoga – no more pricey classes down the gym – or muscle toning.
There are also some fun new games in Wii Fit Plus too, including rhythm kung-fu and snowball fights, so it’s not all hardcore fitness.
You can transfer all your records across from Wii Fit, so you can keep your Wii Fit age, and keep updating your weight and BMI graphs.
A rather sweet addition to Wii Fit Plus is the ability to create a mini profile for your dog or baby with their own Mii. If your pooch needs to lose weight, you can weigh them on the balance board and track progress of those extra walks you give them.
The bad
It's not a massive progression from Wii Fit – and it's a lot more tiring than we first imagined – you still need willpower to keep the momentum u after the novelty wears off.
The bottom line
A solid follow-up to the classic title – and just the thing for shedding festive season pounds without having to brave the great outdoors.
