Canon EOS 450D
The basics
The Canon EOS 450D is an SLR Camera from Cannon. It is part of Canon's highly successful EOS line. This particular camera is equipped with a 12.2 Mega pixel CMOS sensor. It features a 76 mm LCD screen with Live View Shooting capabilities. The EOS 450D is capable of shooting up to 3.5 frames per second.
The good
This little cracker explodes the myth that SLRs are over-sized and over-complicated. Canon puts 12.2-megapixels of photo firepower at your disposal, with a 3-inch Live View screen for aiming and a blistering 3.5 frames per second burst mode, so you can go fully automatic. Picture quality will blow you away and there’s even an optically stabilised 3x zoom lens if all the excitement gives you the shakes. Don’t even worry if life in the trenches gets dirty, the Canon’s dozen megapixels can be instantly wiped spotless by a built-in sensor cleaner.
The bad
Autofocus can be slow and confused in the fog of war – so pop up the flash to activate the reliable AF assist. Although the Canon is on the pricey side compared to some of its rivals, it’s definitely built to last.
The bottom line
Canon has squeezed all the cutting-edge photo tech you could want into a camera that you can (just) afford. A state-of-the-art hotshot.
