You were robbed! What a great fun video. Enjoyed it very much.
Report as inappropriateKarmen15 February 2010
Both music video's were great, but I think Jason's video was the best!
Report as inappropriateindie198215 February 2010
As much as I loved Suzi's and how polished it was, Jason's had a more viral look to it which I liked more!
Report as inappropriateGadgetGuy201015 February 2010
Amazing video if you had better tech you would of so won hands down!
Report as inappropriatejambo_game_kill15 February 2010
your video was more of a rap video
Report as inappropriatekerem15 February 2010
Ha! this is brilliant! Just saw tonight's episode and wanted to watch the whole video.... Glad I did, I love Har Mar and I love the Gadget Show, so I'm double pleased. Seriously, I'm inspired to make a short film now as I've been thinking about it for ages but have £0 budget - this shows you don't need one, thanks! x

Loved both the videoa they were great but for techniqual affect Suzi's was better and more professional looking, but Jason's was funny

you should have won Jase, this is a great vid and just shows what you can do with hi-street tech. Keep up the good stuff
Report as inappropriateRichard15 February 2010
Smiled all the way through, excellent idea and well executed with the kit given. Good enough for MTV.
Report as inappropriateFRJ15 February 2010
Diggin the vibe man!
Report as inappropriateWes15 February 2010
Excellent work. Not bad for FCE. Jas you should have used a steadicam merlin. £600 of consumer kit and gets great shots. When are you guys gonna make you videos online work on the iPhone. You could maybe post them on YouTube, vimeo or exposure room. Brilliant work though!

One when you can give up your day job ! (not that you would) Brilliant !

Suzi's video was more professional, however, Jasons was so random and funny! :]
Report as inappropriateVirulil15 February 2010
Jason's model wasnt that much of a model too much makeup>>>>
Report as inappropriateIan15 February 2010
I know it's just fun but how come Suzi gets all the good tech and more expensive help? Strangely she seems to win frequently.....odd....(puts finger to mouth and looks up to the right in wonderment)
Report as inappropriateRach_B15 February 2010
Great video... kept me watching right to the end.. and its got a real fun element to it too... you should of won Jason!!!
Report as inappropriatejimmy15 February 2010
i liked jasons video best. alot of the time it seems like the challenges are unfair in favor of suzi
Report as inappropriateHelen15 February 2010
Great vid... reminds me of the vids from my youth (in the late 80's) ... different to what we are all used to now. Great effort, hampered by the fact harmar wasnt there during the bmx/board shoot as having him there would have made the video flow better between scenes. Still, it was the vid I chose to view first to see what you could achieve with joe public tech.
Report as inappropriatenick sharpe15 February 2010
i think it was a good video but you lost because the music sucks :/
Report as inappropriateJimmy G15 February 2010
Great video that was full of creativity given the tech that you had. Most people could produce a polished looking video given a professional crew and "techno" cranes! But you managed to pull off a natural and captivating vid that has a gritty and tangible feel to it that matches the music. If you had used the same kit as Suzi for that shoot probably wouldn't of been a doubt over it. Well done.
Report as inappropriateMarcos15 February 2010
Jason's video was wicked! and I loved the song from Harmar whom I hadn't heard before. thumbs up!!
Report as inappropriateJack15 February 2010
HA, that was class! i love the hole paying the people off thing. I think this should have won hands down. good job (Y)
Report as inappropriateRezaBlade15 February 2010
Both music video's were very nice, but I think Jason s video was the best A*****
Report as inappropriatedesignrules15 February 2010
I think the judges missed the point. They talked about what video would get a music contract, surely the imagination of Jason's told more of a story and was more intuitive whereas Suzi's (I love you by the way) was far too polished and something you would produce (or the music company themselves i.e. re shoot) once you have a music contract. It's all about getting noticed at the end of the day and I think Jason had it by a mile. Rage against the machine!
Report as inappropriateRoyce15 February 2010
GREAT VIDEO! Fun, fast and great editing. Never would have won tho because the judges have their jobs to protect.
Report as inappropriateMajestik15 February 2010

Report as inappropriategeorge15 February 2010
best video i've seen in 2 years
Report as inappropriateAlien15 February 2010
Suzi's, All The dosh, all the same posh. looked liked too many band videos of past. no originality, Jason's considering the budget made excellent visuals and comedic story. fun and great!
Report as inappropriateWoody15 February 2010
I thought that the quality of Jason's video was awesome as he was using gear from the high street not professional equipment and expert crew as Susie did. You were robbed Jason !!

I loved the edgy feel to it, didn't feel manufactured but an honest roots grown video. But to rip the story line apart... she hangs around his bar, and sits and stands around the skate park where he rides etc... She didn't need to be impressed, she already fancied Harmar, and was just playing hard to get!
Report as inappropriateMatthew15 February 2010
Loved it. Worked really really well. Full of original ideas. It's a shame the musician didn't arrive n time.
Report as inappropriateWilliam H-T15 February 2010
Great. Loved Suzi's but I think the judges got it wrong the imagination of Jason's vid made it so much more better.

Suzi's all the dosh, all too posh, too high end like so many pop videos, Jason considering the buget, was ecellent, funny and showed what can be done. \judges reprosenting the industry so will go for what it knows, money talks....... -Alien- were out there.

i thought that they were both brill. but the one i liked the most was Suzi's one because i like that band and all the gadgets Suzi used were brill.
Report as inappropriateCollinsmonster15 February 2010
Well done Jason, I think that in the circumstances you did a better job. I was impressed with Suzi's vid, but how much of that was down to her direction? How much 'assistance' did she get from the professionals she worked with. I think the naturalistic look of Jason's video worked really well with his idea and the video would have looked wrong with the professional sheen given to Suzi's. With a bit of help from some pros (art direction, camera, lighting etc) I think Jason would have won.

Jason your video rocks and should have won the challenge, especially when you consider the low tech self edited aspects. It showed great imagination and gave life to a fairly mediocre song. Suzies was good but had that mass produced performance video look which is impressive technically but not that memorable (Sorry Suzie)

Report as inappropriateLee Fuller16 February 2010
For a video shot using high-street equipment and technology, this is brilliant. The use of the helicopter was a good touch as well, personally I feel this video should of won, because it is different than everything else, rather than the staged, typical performance video, of Fightstar. But saying that, the reasons given for Suzi winning were fair, if this was re-shot using professional equipment, Suzi wouldn't of stood a chance. Better luck next time... thetutorialandreview.com

Concur with everybody else here Jason, you were robbed mate. Suzi's was slick, but this was far more interesting. Nice work.
Report as inappropriateRoss Thompson16 February 2010
Awesome vid Jason. It's amazing what you accomplished in one day, especially since you had to fill in all of those roles. Personally, I would have done 3 things differently: - Some shots were stuttering. Was this intentional? Or am I wrong and I have a bad internet connection? - I would have the stunt guys trying to impress the girl still, but I would have them fall over and fail at first. As the video would progress, they would pull off their stunts better and he'd eventually pull the girl. - There was slightly too many shots of that ladies' bottom. Jason, you!
Report as inappropriateBrian Bicknell16 February 2010
I agree with the other guy's , you were robbed .. Suzi's had more of a proffesional feel , but your's was so different and fun..
Report as inappropriateJack16 February 2010
Damn this skatepark looks sick! Where is it?
Report as inappropriateIan16 February 2010
I think you did an outstanding job dude given the fact you did it all yourself (with a bit of help from some friends). I really enjoyed being taken through the story. Only thing I think it was missing was a close up of harmar as he walks out of the door with the girl - maybe giving a wee close up wink to the camera? Maverick performance!

a test of a good video is do you keep watching even if the song is not to your taste. in this case, Suzi's didn't keep me watching. its slick, but consumers have seen slick, polished, for years where as Jasons video is fun , keeps you watching. as others have said its got that viral video look... you want to see more

This wasn't really a contest as such - the music industry prides itself on its creativity and originality, but most music videos are predictable and generic beyond words. Suzi was always going to win because music industry bods will look for a common language and cues that they recognise: polished, professional, bland. I think the result kind of sums it all up: presentation is more important than style, content, ideas or originality. But well done Suzi anyway.
Report as inappropriateAngela Brooker17 February 2010
Jason, i found your video the most interesting to watch, great location, cool camera angles and a story, i love music videos with a story. Suzi's was good but lacked originality, i've seen so many rock videos shot in a warehouse. You should of won!!!!
Report as inappropriateJoza17 February 2010

Report as inappropriatedjcalzar17 February 2010
Actually fair play to both Jason & Suzy both videos should have won. I loved the viral look of this and just shows what you can do without using 10K's worth of kit. was less impressed by Microsoft trying to mark this page as unsafe to view lol
Report as inappropriateGwordon Brown17 February 2010
Jason U RoK! McFly would spend zillions to get the same result - and they would employ some high-end director with bleeding edge tech... and a real helicopter to justify his production budget... BTW Do you think Harmar looks a lot like Ron Jeremy? Maybe that's why he missed the shoot? Best Music Video of the Week
Report as inappropriateMikey_Co17 February 2010
Suzi's looked just like a professional video, was expertly and slickly made...and a bit boring if you didn't like the song or band. Jason's was rough and ready, but much more engaging, and in a world when bands can launch themselves via YouTube or MySpace, perfect for attracting attention! I loved the slow motion sections, and the aerial shots worked really well too!
Report as inappropriateJimDonnelly18 February 2010
Fantastic Video Jason. well paced, fun and retro kept me engaged right to the credits, brought me back to the early days of music videos and i think you might need to thank " A E I O U" by Freeze for some influence in your styling, I used to make short films in the 90`s and this has reminded me that you don`t need a big budget or a cast of thousands just the ability to turn a problem into a challenge, an accident/mistake into a feature and over all a sense of humor, shine on jay you crazy diamond......
Report as inappropriateSamTana18 February 2010
+1 to Mikey_Co above. "Suzy's" vid (I wonder how much input she really had) was polished but predictable and cliched. Jason's had his fingerprints all over it, was packed with invention, cost nowt and was a clear winner. Bob on!
Report as inappropriateSteve Mac18 February 2010
A really entertaining video, not like all the other over polished stuff with no imagination! (Sorry Suzie) The xsperts went for the typical run-off-the-mill production... but... if this is what you do with a small budget, let's see what you can do with the extra benefit next time?!

Nice one Jason! The video is entertaining in it own right and a result you might get into the music of Harmar Superstar. With Suzie's video you probably need to be into Fight Star to appreciate the glossy well made video.

Report as inappropriateTyran20 February 2010
Out of the two I felt Jason's had the edge, Suzie's looked amazing but I felt Jason's was a real attempt to do some different and tell a story. Great stuff! And the use of the model chopper was inspired! Trying to convince my better half that I need one now :)
Report as inappropriatedjalice20 February 2010
Sorry, Suzi baby but Jason's vid is way better. What were those guy's thinking! Jason's had a narrative, ideas and humor. Suzi's was just a a band shoot with no ideas at all. People do seem to be increasingly more impressed with production values than ideas now. The amount of tweenagers I hear cooing over lame overdone effects in movies etc. Let's get back to ideas in art! Kudos to Har Mar for using the word 'soliloquy' in a song too.
