It would appear that both prints were made digitally. That being said does this test take into account the scanner that was used to convert the film in order to be printed. Also, if film is going to be used one ought to test 120, 4 x 5, 8 x 10 film as well as the 35mm. What was the film? Was it consumer grade or professional? Print or slide?

Kris is right. The quality of the film scanner used can make all the difference, and an ISO 400 film is not exactly know for it detail and clarity. The test result would have been totally different when comparing the best affordable digital equipment to the best film equipment and materials. I think this qualifies more as a comparison between a film scanner (unfortunately not named) and a very expensive digital SLR.
