Hackers add keyboard skills to Sony PSP

Hackers add keyboard skills to Sony PSP A keyboard toting PSP would be just the tonic for text fatigued hands

Typing out long messages on your Sony PSP can be particularly gruelling on your finger, so much so that some folk have decided enough is enough and are getting other keyboards to work with the handheld gaming machine.

For years there have been plans by many companies, not just Sony, to create a proper QWERTY style keyboard for the PSP. Ideas have been drawn up and binned one after the other, so fed-up gamers have been making their own.

Or at least forcing other keyboards to work with the PSP, including one modder from a site called AcidMods who showed the world it’s possible to get the Xbox 360’s Chatpad to work with it.

Logitech originally planned one but weren’t given enough information by Sony to bring it to market. However, Sony has since said there will be an official add-on keyboard in 2009.

But until that day, frustrated message addicts will either have to create their own PSP keypads or make do with sore fingers.
