BlackBerry Storm 2 blows in!
Can the BlackBerry Storm 2 throw off the average reputation cast by its predecessor? Read on...
Vodafone has just confirmed that the highly anticipated BlackBerry Storm 2 will be available on the network, and sooner than you think! That’s right the QWERTY-less, touchscreen-toting handset is hitting the high street on October 26!
Forget the nightmare that was the BlackBerry Storm, pilloried by reviewers and celebrities alike, the Storm 2 is hitting stores in ten days time and it promises a host of improvements.
Two of the main gripes about the original Storm were levelled at the lack of Wi-Fi and the non-user-friendly touchscreen. BlackBerry hopes to have rectified this by including the former and SurePress technology to rectify the latter. SurePress is based on an electronic suspension system that provides the user with tactile feedback when the touchscreen is pressed. Whether it’s an improvement on what came before it remains to be seen.
Elsewhere the Storm 2, ahem, storms onto the mobile scene with a 360×480-pixel, 3.25-inch touchscreen that’s ideal for watching back your media, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a microSD card slot for expanding the internal 256MB of Flash memory up to 16GB.
And the tariff? Well, Vodafone is going to be offering the Storm 2 for ‘free’. The only catch? You have to sign up to a two-year contract that’ll see you forking out £35 a month. But you do get 600 minutes talk time, unlimited BlackBerry Internet Service, unlimited text messaging and unlimited access to Vodafone Mobile Internet. Not bad. Not bad at all.

hi, getting the new Blackberry Storm 2 on renewed contract this week, have heard of 'end call' button problems with it in the usa. any news if it occurs here? would be great for a gadget show test on it as its going to be quite popular i think. from what reviews i've read it seems most improved from the original storm. thanks!
