BlackBerry InPulse watch to launch February 2010
The inPulse lets you check your SMS messages without taking your BlackBerry out of your pocket.
The inPulse could well turn out to be the ultimate accessory for BlackBerry owners – a wristwatch that automatically grabs text messages from your phone via Bluetooth and displays them on a 1.3-inch OLED touchscreen – and it’s now got a launch date: February of next year.
The inPulse, made by Allerta, will debut in the US and Canada priced at $149 (around £90), but sadly there are no current plans to bring the device to Europe – something to do with pesky “industry regulations” apparently.
In addition to gathering your texts for easy wrist-mounted perusal, the inPulse will vibrate when someone calls your BlackBerry, sticking the name of the caller up on the screen at the same time. Sadly you won’t be able to actually take calls on the watch – a feature offered by the far more highly-specced (not to mention expensive) LG GD910 watch phone.
