Apple updates MacBook and iMac ranges
Apple has unwrapped a plethora of new computer gear.
Apple has quietly updated its core computer ranges, slipping new iMac and MacBook models into its store – plus an intriguing new mouse with multitouch capabilities.
The new iMac sports a similar look to the previous model (it’s a one-piece aluminium machine, in other words), albeit with a thinner desk stand and slightly different screen bezel. Coming in 21.5 and 27-inch varieties with 1920×1080 and 2560×1440 resolutions respectively, it boasts 4GB of RAM, Firewire, four USB ports, Wi-Fi and an SD card reader, plus a wireless keyboard and Apple’s new mouse. Nvidia and ATI graphics options are available. Prices start at £949 for the 21.5-incher and £1,349 for the 27-incher.
The new MacBook replaces the aging white plastic model, and is itself a white plastic laptop. This time it comes with an unibody design (a bit like the aluminium MacBook Pro line), plus 2GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive, Nvidia graphics, a multitouch glass trackpad and a built-in 7-hour battery. As it’s built into the casing, you’ll have to fork out £99 if you ever need it replaced. Also on board is N standard Wi-Fi and two USB ports. Not a bad little lot for £799.
Lastly, there’s the Magic Mouse, a gloriously sleek desktop rodent with a top surface that is entirely touch sensitive. It’s compatible with multitouch and gestures, so zipping through your files, rotating pictures and scrolling web pages should be easier than ever. That said, it costs £55, so it needs to be pretty nifty.
All the new Apple gear is in store now, ready for order.

All i can say is the imac and mac in general is worlds apart from the feeble microsoft which is useless so if the imac was 2/10 it would still be better than all pc's. however it isint 2/10 it is 10/10

I bought my first Imac after watching the Gadget Show do their comparison test between a few different PC's and the new Imac. I've had numerous desktops over the years and was really fed up how slow and unreliable they could become. Even after cleaning them and upgrading various components. I was so excited when I brought my Imac. I couldn’t believe how quick it was to load up. My husband’s would still be loading, whilst I was already up and running. The only downside to begin with was the slightly different ways that Apple Mac’s work, the software etc. I loved it so much that I then went out and brought an iphone! This was not without trying out other smart phone’s first though. The iphone won hands down and I wouldn’t be without it now. Well done ‘Apple’ keep up the good work. But my only gripe would be to ‘please be a little less harsh on your pricing policy’. We are only mere mortals who like gadgets, but could do without the high-end price tag. Please allow your products to become accessible to everyone, not just the high earners!
