Dallas hops on the back of a giant mechanical spider and leaves web stains all over the floor

Ferrari? Too flash. All-terrain Land Rover? The WAGs can keep ’em. I prefer getting around in something with an open top. Something with a bit more grunt. Something with eight legs…

Say hello to the Mondo Spider. It sounds like some sort of world-dominating super-spider, and it looks like it too. Built by the Mondo Crew it’s a giant, eight-legged mechanical spider that’s been made up of old motorbike parts and reclaimed metal. It weighs about the same as a small car and cost £20,000 to make – it’s got to be one of the most expensive arachnids in the world. It’s definitely the heaviest.

Seeing the Mondo Spider in action is really impressive – and creepy. It moves like a real spider, see. And not one of those slow house-spiders, either. This beast is packing a beefy Honda engine, so it’s got speed. All in all, it makes for one scarily powerful eight-legged freak.

But is this the future of human transportation? Probably not. Is it freaky fun? Hell yeah. And the only way it could be more freaky is if I was sitting on the back. Needless to say, I persuaded the chaps at Mondo Crew to give me a go…
